There is a problem in the CSS.  Heres the fix.

#shadowbox_title {border: 0px solid;}
#shadowbox_info {border: 0px solid;}

Add it to the css your using to theme shadowbox and life is good.

added this bit to both the beginning and then to the end of the shadowbox.css

does not work. :(

(to clarify)

although accurately up to standards, alot of the issues with IE (for me) is it is not initiating the .js

when i get home and test on my other machines... may update as to whether or not this works.

How does this address the problem?  Thanks for your input but I highly doubt that a couple of lines of CSS are borking SB (although with IE you can never be sure).

This post explains what may be happening:

My issues went away after a fresh install of the Flash player.

Yea, sorry - just fixes the shadowbox not opening the content window.  dont know about Flash issues, but not surprised since Flash is on par with IE for personality. i only saw my sites in compatibilty mode until i found the fix.  wasnt top priority but it got on my nerves.  found the fix here : http://code.google.com/p/michaeljackson/issues/detail?id=137

FYI

Adding

#shadowbox_title {border: 0px solid;}
#shadowbox_info {border: 0px solid;}

above #shadowbox_container did work for me.

I tried the above... but it doesen´t help. I´m going crazy over the shadowbox/IE8 issue. Nothing seems to solve it (I have tried to copy several different solutions by now). I think I will just add a line with "If you are using Internet Explorer 8, you need to download and install firefox in order to view this webpage correctly"
