I am the aunt of Max David Bushlack, another baby who died from SIDS in Iowa.  Max died on December 13, 2006, at the age of 3 1/2 months.  The Iowa SIDS Foundation has been so helpful to our family in this journey through grief, healing, and helping others to know the risks of SIDS and how to reduce these risks.

I am the grandmother of Quinton Mathew Lyvers who died on Oct. 1 1981 and to this day I think of him always. Christmas is a tough time for me because of him. He was 6 months old. My bday present . i wish they would find out what causes this terrible thing to happen. I was very nervous when all my other grandkids were in the first year stage and worried all the time if I would loose another.

I lost my niece, Shanda, 6 months to the day that she was born...birthdate: 8-16-75, date of death: 2-16-76, and I think about her a lot. I wonder what she would look like, what she would be doing with her life, and it always made me very nervous when my own 2 kids were babies. (They are now 6 years old and 3 years old). There is not a lot you can do, you just try to make yourself as well-informed as possible, and keep as close a watch on your babies as you can. RIP, Shanda Suzanne, We love you.
