Hi folks and a big welcome to September! I quite like this month actually, it's a bit like April in so much as it offers a feeling of new beginnings somehow. I know that crafters worldwide who celebrate christmas are already hot on whats in and whats on for making this year!! I'm hoping to get a couple of fibromites together to make a few things, either for ourselves or for the group to sell, so hope to arrange that soon. Spent most of yesterday with Wendy down at Weston at the Lions Day promoting awareness and selling a few things for FMAUK funds - think we did fairly okay moneywise but had good success passing on details to lots of people about fibromyalgia and the associations work and helpline. Hope they get on okay wih their own paths in fibro-life. So today is being spent in Knackerdom and I'm sure you all know which motorway thats on !!!!!

Sounds like a lovely family time Joy, and not surprised you're in Knackerdom too! What programmes are you watching today then?!!!

Sun is out in Bristol today, not sure for how long but I'm making sure I get my vitamin D whilst I can!!

Take care all and excuse my absence recently, have just changed to a laptop and had to remember all my passwords!!

Have a good one folks, Joo x

Hi all,

Had an odd kinda day today, couldn't settle to anything kinda day - do you guys get them?  Our Jen had a visit in work from her landlord today as there was a massive water leak from her flat causing the ceiling to collapse in the shower downstairs!!! Our Dan went round to help her sort it out thankfully and guess which DIY genius was to blame? One husband called Simon who didn't plumb in a washing machine properly - tut tut tut....... go and stand in the corner boy!!!!

I'm booked into a six week dressmaking course starting next week, meeting the teacher in the morning. Now I'm wondering what I want to make, trousers, top, not sure really. Also starting a hydrotherapy group with some other folk from our fibro group, we have to pay but it's the only way to get any swimming exercise for me as my GP hasn't been able to get me anywhere. It's quite expensive but I really need to do something!

Can't remember what I was going to write to you other guys now... doh!  and this new laptop is bugging me............

Hi everyone, I've been busy so not been on much but I guess it's that time of year - September seems to encourage me to start something new! I started my dressmaking course last friday and will be making trousers (thought I'd make something with lots of difficult bits so I could REALLY learn lots of new things!) and it was a lovely class, only four students so lots of one to one time with the tutor. I start art classes with a friend on wednesday morning and will be going to life drawing classes with Simon on thursday evenings. I am also going to hydrotherapy on monday mornings!! From now on it's all about the 'me' time - well thats until something crops up as something always does!!

Did anyone watch 60 Minute Makeover today? The woman they did it for has fibromyalgia.

And is anyone watching Ty's Great British Adventure about Portishead swimming pool? That's on all this week at 10pm on Sky and Virgin 265. Its local to me and a favourite spot and also where we did the Raft Race back in July. It was a very wet week when they did it tho

Rightyho, must away to my pit, take care all, sleep well,

Hi all, very remiss of me to be away so much from the site as I'm supposed to be running it with Buffy! However, I know you lot can be trusted so I don't worry, someone would ring if there was a prob for dure! Now Buffster.....I haven't heard from her for ages although I haven't rung her in a while either (I'm rubbish at calling people back!) so I think we need to do a 'Buffy where art thou?' between us to let her know we're still here and missing her. In fact theres a few peeps not been on for a while so does anyone want to help me out with a bit of admin catch up please? If anyone wants to, just email or ring (if you have their number of course) any of the 'missin' Fibro Fighters (including any of you who don't know who Buffy or the others are - as I know they'd love to know theres a lot more of us about these days!) Just go to the members section to get the email addy's.

Thanks guys

We just got our latest Sun holiday thru for mid October and we're off down to Rock near (and opposite) Padstow. It'll be our third time at this site and it's very nice.

Another bit of news is that we're seriously thinking about moving to North Somerset - watch this space!

Am also taking two art classes a week at present, it's a lot of effort sometimes but once there, I love it! Simon comes to the Life Drawing classes so he carries my stuff which is great  and those classes are massive - about 100 peeps there at a time! Luckily theres about six models each week so we can choose how long a pose we want to study. The other class is a big group too but more about general stuff but I'm trying to concentrate on drawing skills - you never know, I might just get to college next year, I'm certainly going to look at the options for an old fibromite!!

Oh yes, I nearly forgot my weekly dressmaking classes too.......am making 'difficult' trousers!!! Doing okay tho'  The classes finish in a couple of weeks but I'm booking up for January as I'm really enjoying it.

Sorry to have missed you on your visit to Bath Joy, dafty moo forgetting to ring me!! Anyone else ever in the west country, let me know and we could meet for a coffee maybe? Gordano services on the M5 is a good spot but anywhere near Bristol is a possibility if you'd like to? Both me and Wendy are about and I have several fibro friends who'd be happy to meet anyone else for a chinwag.

I mean.........you know how shy I am !!

Take care all, hope you're enjoying this lovely Indian Summer?
