Hi, I just successfully launched the abcl interpreter on an N800
device. If you want to try abcl on such device, install
Jalimo first, then you can run abcl with
cacao -jar abcl.jar
from an xterm. Jalimo maemo packages are at
http://jalimo.evolvis.org/repository/maemo/jalimo-swt-example-install.phpNote that there are other packages too, but I had trouble getting
those to install. So simply surf to that address
with the tablet and everything should install.
Some numbers, as caveat:
On my desktop machine (Core 2 Duo, T2500) the interpreter repl starts
Low-level initialization completed in 0.435 seconds.
Startup completed in 1.896 seconds.
on the maemo device, however...
Low-level initialization completed in 11.121 seconds.
Startup completed in 835.52 seconds.
So be patient. :D
Anyway, abcl seems to work out-of-the-box on the tablet, as it should.
The slowness is probably because of the
device being relatively underpowered in general, and possibly Cacao too.
