Road Ride: 7/20, 9am

Who's up for a road ride on sunday???  I think we were talking about the Calaveras Loop.  I've never done it, but for those who are wondering...#of miles?  feet of climbing?  Where are we meeting?

here's a map i've found all plotted out. +/- 30miles depending on where you start from. This one start/ends at SJSU so it might be an easier start location.

It's about 1300ft of climbing stretched out over 15miles, so it's a relatively low gradient. I haven't actually biked the route myself, but it looks entirely doable.

If you guys want to do the longer loop, it's a total of ~48mi from the shopping center on Berryessa. ~3500ft of climbing total. I'm down for either.

Ok...I was thinking more of this type of route...almost 20miles but it should be a great beginning run for most of us. You all are welcome to park at my complex. Old Calaveres Rd will provide a nice little uphill warm-up before we get on to the hilly part of the climb. This way we can finish in a couple of hours and I can still go to Six Flags.

...maybe, but you would have to have brakes. I'd do it single speed with you but I'm racing in the morning and have to miss out on this ride, look really fun though! I haven't climbed sierra in forever.

This winter I'm bringing out the heavy bike and going to do lots of climbing go get strong  you guys are more than welcome to join me, we can make a day out of it and do all the nastiest climbs in the area
