I saw on a past forum post and recently within the 2008 Summit that a WSRP implementation was desired.  I would like to echo a desire to get WSRP integration within the Plone-Zope framework as it would allow me to introduce Plone into the U.S. Federal Govt agency where I work.  A little bit of background, which will help you focus on my desire:

We have numerous Java and .Net environment deployed currently.

Service-Oriented Architectures based on the SOAP protocol are currently preferred over XML-RPC and REST within most U.S. Federal agencies.

WSRP is an open standard that is technically language independent, although the first implementation was with JSR-168 on which WSRP was based.

What I would like is the Plone-Zope environment to become a WSRP consumer, i.e. remain the front-end, but be able to consume back-end portlet web services.  Does anyone have plans to move out on this?

I am just putting my toe in with the question at this point, but next FY, I may have some ability to fund some work, but it will be too late if someone hasn't at least started this work as I will have a need for delivering a portal solution by December 2008.  (Read that I would need something in beta and I may be able to get money for a small contract to finish the work and release a final release.)

Thanks for any and all info...

Paul
