This is a visual novel review. It's speculative fiction, but to me it is unclear as to whether it is science fiction or fantasy.

http://www.renai.us/game/dualHearts.shtmlUm, this is wild and crazy. This is quite a bit different from Dual Hearts (though it can be rather similar, depending on what you do). Dual hearts was the first version of this visual novel. Mostly, it's presented better. You actually have choices in it. There are a couple things I don't recall off-hand that I liked more in the original. The plot seems more solid, and the grammar is better than in Dual Hearts—though it is different, and longer (more complex, too).
It seems in this you can make quite a few choices, though there are only a few final directions, which is good, in a way.
Content:
• I think there's one mild swear word in it (maybe two, if I missed something).
• There is lots violence (though you don't really see any of it—you just read it).
• There are hints that the Jarel guy
likes your character (depending on what you do), but nothing comes of it.
• I wouldn't call Lia a role-model character with how brutal she was to the video game guy and the clothing store clerk. How she got that wallet was questionable, too.
Anyway, this is probably meant to be playful, and not serious, with the content, though. I don't think the characters are meant to be role models, per se (but I thought it best to mention it, as some people take it that way whether or not it was meant to be).
