Robert,
You must have had a better count where you are than my office did. I have not seen Colorado results yet, as district has only processed about 150 of roughly 1000 routes here, but in my office, we got hammered.
Out of 25 K routes, we will have at most 2 or 3 remaining, of our 18 J routes, all will be H unless they can afford a large pay cut, and all 12 H routes will be sub-standard. I am an H route now down from a 44J.
I may be wrong, but J routes have Sat. as thier relief day by contract, not MOU. I may be wrong again, but I think the "formula office" concept is also contractual, not visited on the craft via MOU.
I think the Association dropped the ball when we "negotiated" the formula concept in the first place, we just let the PO off the hook instead of making them twist on it. I bitched, after the fact, but it was a "fait accomplie" ( spelling may be off here) by the time I got to bitch.
As far as your question about "bumping" a fellow carrier, I will tell you I am opposed to that in any form, for any reason, even while I think the whole concept of "senority", as regards what rights we should have within our craft needs some work. I know you won't want to hear this, but, if you only get 1 day off every other week, I think it should be Sat, if for no other reason than to re-charge your batteries. Been there, done that, (I am gonna be 57) and my 6 day weeks are a killer, physically. In my office, most K's opted for Mon or Tues, due to work load etc., and many of them still bitch when they get the heavy day "mon" or even worse, the heaviest day "tues" after a Monday holiday, and thier "slacker sub" doesn't carry everything, so "they" get a fulls days relief, when they take that day off intentionally, cause the work load is too heavy, but the subs would prefer to work those days on a route they know, so I guess it works for both sides. I have never been off on either of those days, and have heard my sub bitch because they had to work a less familiar route in those instances, so I see both sides. I intend to work on improving the working conditions of the subs first, as we are all screwed if we don't have them. Think about it.
