Mustapha-
Excellent news! Thanks for helping to make Plone even better! The first thing to do would be to hop on the plone-developers list to introduce yourself and let folks know what you're doing. They will likely have you sign the Plone contributor agreement so you can get access to the Plone SVN repository. The core developer team can guide you through the process of getting the code into shape and driving the PLIP forward. I'll write up my UI suggestions later this week (they're pretty minor). best, jon > -----Original Message----- > From: Mustapha Benali [mailto:[hidden email]] > Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 4:08 AM > To: Jon Stahl > Cc: Alexander Limi; Matt Hamilton > Subject: Re: what's up with plone.app.changeownership !?! > > Hi Jon, > > Sorry for the late answer. I released iw.memberreplace some times ago in the - apparently - same field of functionnality. It clones the site-wide security settings of an user to another user. https://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/iw.memberreplace/ Feel free to pick from there anything that fits with for plone.app.changeownership And sorry if I'm off topic ;) Cheers -- Gilles Lenfant INGENIWEB (TM) - SAS 50000 Euros - RC B 438 725 632 Bureaux de la Colline 1 rue Royal 92210 Saint Cloud - France Phone : 01 78 15 24 00 / Fax : 01 46 02 44 04 web : www.ingeniweb.com - une société du groupe Alter Way Le 3 mars 09 à 21:55, Mustapha Benali a écrit : > Jon Stahl wrote: >> Mustapha- >> >> Excellent news! Hi Gilles,
Cool, same functionality. Your code looks more z3 style :) I didn't see it otherwise I wouldn't have developed plone.app.changeownership but developed on top of it. Thanks, I will pick many idea and code :) from it. /Mustapha Gilles Lenfant wrote: > (taking this discussion late) > > I released iw.memberreplace some times ago in the - apparently - same > field of functionnality. Feel free to merge all good stuffs where you want. I didn't see there was a PLIP about this otherwise I would have signed there. But as said in the PLIP, this is a common customer requirement. Note that iw.memberreplace makes some more than the PLIP specifies (cloning in mutable groups, sharings...) but does not delete - intentionally - the original user. BTW, my fellow Encolpe told me I forgot the workflow history in iw.memberreplace but I dunno if this is essential or just cosmetic. Cheers, hope to see you again at the next (?)
