People,

I currently have F12 Beta installed (2.6.31.5-96.fc12.x86_64) - thanks
to everyone involved with developing Fedora over the years!.  Once the
stable version is released, do I have to change the repos in
/etc/yum.repos.d to get off Rawhide?

Thanks,

Phil.

Usually by this time the repo files poinmt to the next release rather
than rawhide. But you should take a look at them to make sure. If during
an update they are seen to be exactly the same as what was installed by
the version being removed they don't get replaced. Instead you get an
.rpmnew file. If that has happened you'll want to manually intervene.

thanks for the response.  I have:

adobe-linux-i386.repo
fedora-rawhide.repo
fedora-updates-testing.repo
fedora-updates.repo
fedora.repo
rpmfusion-free-rawhide.repo

and only "fedora-rawhide.repo" mentions "rawhide" in the mirrorlist
variable - all the others look normal to me.  Should I delete
"fedora-rawhide.repo" ?

Thanks,

Phil.

You want to check that fedora.repo and fedora-updates.repo are enabled and
fedora-rawhide is disabled. Usually at this point references to the mirror
manager for the upcoming release are redirected to the current rawhide
repo. Once the release is made, the mirror manager stops doing that.

And furthermore, the fedora-release RPM is updated.  Which means that
unless you've made changes to the repo configuration files manually,
you should be seamlessly transferred to the Fedora 12 branch.  IIRC
you have to take manual action to stay on the Rawhide branch after
that point.

See:

Hopefully it answers your questions... or if not we can add them. ;)

That's my recollection, the whole cutover process works perfectly without
intervention, unless you want to continue to drag yourself down the bleeding edge.
