Hi, I just download Open Office tonight and am having the same problem I see posted on 2/22. I put in the capital Y for Withdrawal of mail and it's not adding it into my eval. Is there something else I need to do?

Went to another forum and sure enough....found my problem. You have to enter "Yes" not just the "Y". This is a great site and ruralinfo - YOU are a dream. Thanks for all you've done to help us.

Ditto on the recommendation of Open Office. It is a fantastic program to use long after the mail count for all sorts of documents.

I am using one of the excel with pay calculators and it only pays one minute for picked up certifieds and two minutes on picked up parcels.  I was under the impression that parcels pay 4 minutes and certifieds 2.  Is there a mistake on the calculator or am I not understanding it right?

The formula should be right. The time displayed is a "Running Evaluation" .
For example : If you had only 1 certified accepted in the 12 days, the calculator would divide 1 by 12 then multiply by 6 ( gets a weekly average". Then it multiplies that number by the time standards.
So your route is averaging  .5 certifieds accepted a week.

On the top right of the NRLCA calculator you have to enter how many week's data you have entered ( # days entered divided by 6). It starts at 4 weeks so the evaluation will be lower until you change it to the correct number. ( We haven't had 4 weeks data yet. ) My calculators will automatically do this.

I am having problems on the evaluation page...it only has a stamp stock for 20 mins...since we are at the end of week 3, should that be 60 mins instead? 20 x 3 = 60.
Also, on the loading time, the load/reload, scanner time it has it for one week only. How do you fix these problems? Thanks!

It is only going to show weekly numbers .Your evaluation is weekly. The times for letters, flats, etc. are averages for a week. The set time for scanner, unload etc.. never changes. The only accumlative numbers you will see are for letters, flats ,DPS. I left it that way so you could check totals with the PO form.

If I add the stamp stock column for 3 weeks as well as the others then I have gained an hour. If I leave them at one week, the stamp stock column and the others, I have lost an hour. So which one is correct? To see what I am at don't I need to add up those columns for 3 weeks? I understand about the flats/letters as per checking with what is on the sheet management has. I am just trying to figure out exactky what I am at right now! Help! and thanks! awnee

No. If you filled out data and route info, you're fine.
The count is 4 weeks. After 4 weeks the totals are divided by 4 to get your weekly volume. That number is then multiplied by the time standard.
So if you add , for stamp stock, 20+20+20+20 then divide by 4 you still get 20 minutes a week on your evaluation for stamp stock.Works the same for 3 weeks, 20=20=20 divided by 3 = 20 minutes a week. It doesn't change like letters,flats,etc.. It's constant.Your evaluation is a week.
These calculators do a "running evaluation" so the counted items time will change. The fixed times will not change. They are credited the same every week.
You've lost some.

Oh ok I got it now (boink me blonde head). So I have lost some..but I was barely a 44k, I think 10 mins into that and now I am a 43K and need 10 mins to get back to a 44K...duh...going to be a long last week! But like others have said, at least I have a job. Thanks so much!

I liked your simplified calculator, except when I put "1" dismount in the column 18, my sheet won't just take the number one. It offers me the option of 1=Yes, 2= No. It will accept any number except 1.

After you type 1 and the text appears, hit backspace then enter. 1 should appear.
Another solution is on Toolbar above sheet go to : Tools,Then Cell contents, then left click autoinput ( removes check mark)

Hello Thank-you for letting me know how to do the NRLCA calculator that made all the difference in the world! I do have another question for you I notice that the 6 min.scanner 30 min.personal,18min. load and 20 min. stamp stock is only on there once do you add the  74 mins. in per week for the other 3 week's or is it in there and I don't see it also the load and R time the numbers are different when their calculated I must not understand that either good thing I didn't become a mathamatician It's kind of scarry when you see your off from last year by 3 hours! Thank-You!!

Your evaluation is based on a week's average of work. The scanner, stamp stock, unloading , etc.. are fixed times every week.
They don't change ( like mail volume does). When the calculator figures your average times for the variable items-- letters, flats, loading, "R" time,etc...-- it takes the average for a week times the time standard to get a weekly time.
So if you had 275 minutes loading time, in 22 days, the calculator would divide 275 by 22 then multiply by 6 . The result would be that you are averaging 75 minutes loading time a week through 22 days.
