Some javascript/style in this post has been disabled (why?)

Hello All,

Were can I find an overview of all zope/plone webhosting, maintenance and development businesses? I am especially interested in businesses based in the Netherlands. I thought I once found a directory of zope/plone providers but I can’t seem to find it anymore…

Thanks!

Nynke

you can also try here:

But I remember from my own research that Amaze and Zest in the
netherlands were both good.

Yes, yes and yes. I'm doing quite a lot of the review work on
plone.net and I'm bloody amazed at the sheer amount of plone companies
that are listing themselves! I'm pretty sure plone.net is the best
resource for this kind of info at the moment.

Yes, a great site!

.. in fact, looking for groups to outsource work too, is hard when
identifying specifics due to the amount of listings :)

eg: we are looking at design oriented firms, they don't need to be
hard-core coders, but able to do really nice design work with css in
Plone without handholding (yes, I'm sure we are not alone ;), hard to
choose where to start there's just so many options, and clicking thru
checking out peoples work is time consuming :) It would be great if
there was a system to categorise searches based on areas in Plone or
development people 'focus' on ... then again, it could be overkill ..

I agree. The ability to specify the primary focus of the company
would be good. For example: Our main focus is Design, but we also do
Coding and Product Development etc...

I don't think it'll work that well, people will specify that they do
anything if the listings on plone.org/products is an indicator. :)

Unless you limit it to a choice of one :)

(or a 'major' and 'minor';)

Nah, I wouldn't like that extra complexity on plone.net. There'll be a
pretty big company for sure that really does all of these things
reliably, for instance. We're already assuming that a plone provider
actually builds websites, but that leaves out the hosting-only
providers. So: I'm not in favour of any additional restrictions/
assumptions.

I'd suggest (for css work) to pick a few providers and to ask them
what css work they did on the most attractive site you can find of
them. That ought to give you some good comparison material.

Reinout
