RRDtool 1.4 (rc2) packages for Debian

Hi everybody,

I've just uploaded RRDtool 1.4 (1.4~rc2+20091004-1 to be precise, i.e.
an SVN snapshot from Sunday) to Debian experimental. Because of the
introduction of the new binary packages 'rrdcached', 'liblua5.1-rrd0'
and 'liblua5.1-rrd-dev' the packages will end up in the NEW queue and
have to be processed manually by the Debian FTP team, so it's going to
take some time until the packages actually hit the archive. Therefore,
I've made the packages available at the following URL as well:

  http://people.debian.org/~tokkee/rrdtool-1.4/

For now, powerpc binary packages are available only. I will add amd64
and i386 packages tomorrow.

Testing and feedback would be very appreciated! :-)

Unless someone detects some rather major issue, I'll upload 1.4.0 to
unstable once it has been released.

Cheers,
Sebastian

Thanks to Alexander Reichle-Schmehl, the packages have already been
accepted and, thus, should appear in the archive soonish (the powerpc
packages will be available in a few hours, all other architectures will
appear as soon as they have been built by the auto-builders and uploaded
by the buildd-maintainers).

… anyway, amd64, i386 and powerpc packages are also available from that
URL, signed by my key (0x8501C7FC - see the *.changes files).

Enjoy,
Sebastian

See my other E-mail - amd64 and i386 are now available as well (built on
unstable, so they are suitable for testing, unstable and experimental).

Right - it's an SVN snapshot of trunk from last Sunday.

Did you talk to Tobi about including those bindings in the RRDtool
distribution? Then, I'd create a package for them, too. If they are
shipped as a separate source tarball, a separate Debian source package
should be used for that. Since I do not use PHP at all, it does not make
sense for me to maintain any such package - in that case, you could,
e.g., file an RFP (request for package) bug - see [1] for details.

Hi Benny,

as I said before, if you provide patches for integrating your php
bindings into the rrdtool distro, I will be glad todo so!
