Hi Everyone,

It's been awhile since we last had a chapter meeting, so I thought I'd put out my feelers to see if there was any interest in a meeting this coming July.

I would propose we go for a meeting on Thursday, July 9th at 6 PM. If anyone else has a better date, or if too few people are able to make it then, by all means suggest an alternative!

I know many people are busy with typical summer fare (be it field work, vacation or otherwise), but I definitely think it would be nice to enjoy the patio at the Fox and Feather!

Cheers,
Phil

I would probably be able to make it.

If there is interest I could give a demo of 2 qgis plugins I released on sourceforge.

1. A georss feed agregator to turn a feed into layers.

2. A csw client to search ogc catalogues and plot wma/wfs services.

Both plugins are made with python and made for educational purposes to learn more about services.

Just a thought.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

I think that'd be a pretty neat talk, especially to see GeoRSS in
action. Since we've seen a few affirmative responses, I'm going to
update the wiki page to say the 9th, tentatively, and put you down as
the speaker, if that is OK with you?

Cheers,
Phil

Excellent, thanks Phil.  I will just be getting back from a trip that
day, but might be able to come join you later in the evening.

presentation thursday

Hey Folks,

Just a question to those who used the TV for their presentations at Fox
and Feather. I have only used the LCD projector and screen from back in
the day.

I tried hooking my computer (Ubuntu 9.04, Jaunty) up to my LCD TV and it
was not recognized. So I am wondering if others have tried hooking their
linux boxes up to the LCD TV at the pub.

Any suggestions... anyone remember what the screen size and refresh
rates are so I can grok my xorg.conf?

I might have to make it in for a dry run this week.

Cheers

I only remember that it has a standard VGA port and I would GUESS it
is 60Hz, and that the resolution is either 1280x720 or 1920x1080 since
those are the TV standards, but that's all just guessing.

I can't remember if any of the computers we've used there were running
Linux or not...

Liz was the last person to present, but there were only a few of us
there and I don't even remember if we used the screen, but I think so.

Good luck...
