Published research with K-12 students and virtual worlds

I am looking for published research that shows "How virtual worlds are
showing improvements in K-12 student attention, comprehension, and/or
retention" to support a project I am working on.  Any suggestions
regarding the best work to reference would be greatly appreciated !
