Potuguese to English Terminology

Hi Folks,
Just wondering if someone can help me with the translation from Portuguese to English of 'Corregedoria Geral da policia' and also 'Delegada de Policia".

"Corregedor" is the person who makes sure that the institution, the police in this case, is working under the terms of the law, without abuses. Corregedoria Geral da Policia is the department within the police at country level that does that. I don't know the term in English.

Delegado da Policia is an Inspector that does criminal investigation (like a Scotland Yard Inspector).

These terms are used in Brasil. In Portugal the names are different but the functions are basically the same.

the first quote means "General Corregedoria of the police officer"

and the second one is "' Police chief"

Corregedoria geral de policia Means Ïnternal affairs
and Delegada de policia means Policie chief, and, on this case , a female police chief(delegada)
