Poll: wxGUI render button default activation

Hi,

to get the behaviour of the wxGUI closer to other products including
QGIS, I would suggest to activation the render button (right bottom
corner of the display) by default.

Teaching GRASS the students always ask me "why don't I see anything
when loading a new map into the manager??" - the default change
would solve this problem. First thing I do when using wxGUI is activating
"Render".

Makes sense?

Markus

Not sure, rendering can be sometimes slow. But basically I am not
against. Anyway rendering engine should be optimalized in GRASS 7. So

+0 or almost +1 ;-)

+1 from me on making the Render button default behavior.
I tell students to turn it on the first thing they open GRASS
to avoid the questions that Markus is talking about.
Automatic rendering was one of the main reasons I switched
the class to wxGUI this semester.
I haven't had any complaints that it is slow so far.

Related to that I noticed that some commands (I forgot now which)
have a button that allows users to automatically load the results
into the layer manager and if you have Rendering on that means it
renders the resulting map upon finishing the computation -
this is a very nice feature too that would be great to have for more
modules,
but it in this case it should not be the default behavior (it is good
as it is, it would just be nice to have it available for more modules)

done in r39680 (devbr6) and r39681 (trunk). After some testing could
be backported to relbr64.
