OK, all you Plone geniuses out there:

At your 2008 Conference, don't forget to brainstorm for the very,
very, very bottom rung of new Plone users, when you all chitchat
together in the halls and with your neighbors during breaks.  Think
kindly upon the growing grass root supporters who log in as an
administrator and click on the edit tab...and stare...wondering how to
put columns or frames or whatever those three things are called that I
wanted in order to put things in...and all the other stuff.  Think
kindly upon the new users who have just learned the definition of
Plone and have not a clue how to stumble around and figure things out.

and don't think about illegal html (whatever it is) that makes my web
provider cringe at the thought of me using some things out there,

A big fan of a simple start into the website world, who thinks kindly
of you all,

Come and brainstorm with us about it in person!  :-)

Plone Conference 2008 is going be very, very "newbie-friendly" -- in the past two years, nearly half of our attendees have never been to a Plone conference before!

Seriously; Plone isn't something that "we" make for "you" -- it's something that all of us make together for each other!

best,

I only wish I could join all of you.  I just found out about CMS and
Plone a WEEK after some international CMS convention was held in
Portland, Oregon.  I don't know how many times I commuted past the
convention center when it was going on. Pain, pain, pain.  Hopefully,
it was a successful convention and some of you might be thinking of
holding a Plone Conference in Portland, Oregon?

I will wistfully watch the date as it progresses forward,
brainstorming away just in case I can come up with a way.  After all
there is a will <G>.

If you are working with Plone, then going to the conference (and
possibly the pre-conference training, but then I shouldn't advise you to
do that since I'm biased) is likely to be the best investment you'll
make into Plone all year.

Seriously - you'll learn more, meet more "useful" people and gain more
of an understanding of Plone than you could in any other way. The
conference is also pretty cheap (as far as conferences go), as is the
training (as far as training goes). Of course, flight + hotel comes on top.

Cheers,
Martin

This is absolutely true. I met you (and Jon Stahl and others) for the first
time at Plone Conference 2006 in Seattle, and now I'm organizing this year's
conference in DC!

In fact, Seattle really inspired me to submit the DC bid. There is definitely
no substitute for in-person interaction, and the conference provides the
opportunity for just that, and more.

So, attend Plone Conference 2008 in DC, and submit your bid to host
Plone Conference 2010 in your city! ;-)
