In coordination with the framework team we have finalised the process and
time-frame for the PLIP implementation phase.
PLIPs will be reviewed on three criteria: code, user interface and
documentation. Problems in any of those three areas may be grounds for
rejecting a PLIP.
All dates in the time-line below are inclusive and based on UTC. In other words:
if the deadline is Saturday that means you have until the end of Saturday
according to the UTC timezone.
Saturday, January 17: deadline for PLIP implementations
-------------------------------------------------------
All PLIPs have to be officially submitted to the framework team via an
email to
[hidden email]. I would strongly recommend that
you submit your PLIPs before this deadline: that will allow us to do a
better review of your code and providing feedback sooner.
Saturday, January 30: deadline for implementation review
--------------------------------------------------------
The framework team (or their administrative helpers) will collect all reviews
and report their findings. This review is not final: if there are any problems
with the implementation they can still be fixed at this point.
Again, if you submit a PLIP early you may get your review findings earlier as
well!
Saturday, February 7: deadline for revised PLIP implementations
---------------------------------------------------------------
PLIP implementations have to be final and submitted (again via email to the
framework team) for a final review round. If your PLIP was already approved you
can sit back and relax this week.
Saturday, February 14: framework team gives final PLIP verdict
--------------------------------------------------------------
The framework team (or their administrative helpers) will collect all reviews
and make their official recommendation to the release manager.
