Hi all,

My Internet was down yesterday, so I took a little time to install
Plone-3.2.1 on my WinXP box using the new Plone-3.2.1 Windows installer.

I've made some notes that may be useful to new Plone users.

Feel free to copy them and use them any way you would like, including
using them on plone.org.

Here's the link:

Enjoy,

Hi Steve (or other interested party),

Do you see anything here that might be worthy of putting into the
installer's README? That seems like the most appropriate place to put
this...

Cheers,

- Veda

You'd think so ... except that I don't think Sidnei is planning on
doing a new installer until 3.3 (short of a security problem). And, I
think he's hoping to have the visual controller in that release.

Larry's notes are excellent, but I hope they're just an interim need.

Steve

An update: I think Sidnei's hoping to get this done for 3.2.2. He's
also at work on a method for respawning with admin permissions that
will work on Vista.

Thanks a bunch Larry.  I'm new to Plone and this info was key to getting it setup.
