I'm sorry, everyone, but I went ahead and published this.  (It was in
direct answer to a #plone question, so I didn't feel I could make the
guy to wait while it got reviewed.)  I promise, I'll do whatever you say
needs to be done to it. :)

Thanks,

I don't see that doc published but "in progress".

Anyway, the Sharing tab is your friend.

I'd like to see a bit more about what the actual problem is that you're
trying to solve. I understand that you're just using a hypothetical case
here, but it would be worth saying that there's a permissions problem
involved with deletion of comments (or whatever the heck is going on there,
I'm not a programmer).

Also, in the interest of needing to incorporate stuff like this into our
manuals, Plone's documentation team editors tend to prefer more bland styles
of writing because it makes our job easier and we have fewer rewrites to do.
Don't worry about it this time, though, it's not a huge deal.

Cheers,

- Veda

I agree. To be honest, I think this doc will only become really useful if you provide context info about what you're doing and why, including the steps you're following in the pdb debugging session.

I was thinking of creating a kind of "debugging manual", introducing pdb and its use inside Plone, a brief on helper applications, logging, profiling, debugging permissions, and everything else you think is worth it.

Existing content suitable for this manual were tagged "debugging manual" in the Development Section Asessment Chart.

Also, in the interest of needing to incorporate stuff like this into our

Yes. Two things:
  • Try not to make your explanations too "personal". Statements like "Ok, so I forgot I was writing this tutorial.  Anyway, because someone on #plone needs the solution, I'm going to skip to the solution." are an example of what not to do. http://plone.org/documentation/tutorial/creating-documentation-for-plone.org is a good start.
  • Don't use two spaces to separate sentences. Just one is enough.
Thank you very much for your prolific contributions!
