This is a reply to both Veda and Christopher. I'm sending it to the
whole list, so I can get feedback from everyone. Please help me get
this right. :)

It looks pretty good to me. Just
a few comments.
You should probably state what the preferred templates are (e.g.
plone3_theme, not plone2_theme). Perhaps mentioning that the paster
recipes
are tied to a version of Plone is also useful?
I think it's worth stating that the list of available paster recipes
could
change at any minute if someone adds a new one (I was contemplating
doing
this yesterday).
Sure, I can add those comments easily.
I'd also like to know where to go if you want to create your own recipe.
And, are there any guidelines on who can release a recipe or how it can
be
included in the next version of PasteScript, in the event someone wants
to
write their own?
Cheers,

Veda, you ask a great question there. I have no idea what the answer
is.

Hey John,
You don't think you need a little more explanation on the differences like
why you want to use lets say a archetype template instead of a regular plone
program template?
Sure, if I knew what the differences were. But even after 9 months in
Plone, I still don't.
Technically if you don't know why you would use one or the other it's just a
printing of the trees.
Bingo! In my case, I knew I needed something with "profiles/default"
in it, so I could set some properties. The question I needed to answer
was, "Which paster template has this?"
Sure, I agree that it's better to actually
understand what
template you need. However, there are times that this is just too high
a wall to climb. Consider this How-To on the same level as "grep the
codebase."
Any more thoughts?
John
PS-I have found that the paster templates create incomplete "things".
IMHO, stuff that comes out of
paster create should be ready to
install in Plone, without any customization. That would give the user
a baseline, from which to experiment. But that's probably a rant for a
different list... ;)
