Dear Foundation Members & Plone Community --
The Plone Foundation formed a fund raising committee to help brainstorm and
manage fundraising efforts for the community.
The scope of the committee is:
- plan fundraising activities to support the Foundation and the community's
assets (like plone.org)
Some *possible* ideas might be: planning an ongoing PayPal "give" button on
plone.org; selling t-shirts or other Plone-themed items; selling ad space on
plone.org or other sites, etc. Of course, you probably have better ideas than
these--and that's why you should join.
Everyone is invited to help out, and we'd love everyone's input in this
critical area. You don't have to be a foundation member to be on the
committee, and service on a committee is a great way to earn the merit to
join the foundation.
Alan has written an initial proposal for a fundraising project (I'll get him
to send a copy to the mailing list).
Munwar Shariff of CIGNEX (a Foundation board member) has offered to chair this
committee.
