Congratulations on your 75th birthday!

Pat or Pete? We always called you Pat though you were billed as both. One of our local legends, a truly great professional wrestler and a good mate. I never wrestled Pat Curry - not heavy enough, although I reckon I am now.

I last saw Pat at a reunion at Ellesmere Port a couple of years ago and he was about to go into hospital for surgery. He was a bit apprehensive about the whole thing. I'm so pleased he's recovered and celebrating with his family.

We spent many hours travelling to shows and Pat was always game for a good story, a good chat and laugh. He also matched the best in the business in the ring and was always a great credit to the sport.

Let me have your address, Pat, and I'll send you a complimentary copy of the book as a birthday present.

Happy birthday and many happy returns; and on behalf of your old mates - Ian Wilson, Mark Wayne, Bill Blake, Brendan Moriarty, Paul Carpentier, Ian McGregor, Jim Moser, Alf Cadman and Eddie Rose. And not forgetting all those who have already gone... I'm sure they'll all be wishing you good fortune & good health.

Pete will always be Smasher Pat Curry to me. Great days in the 1960s against the big villains Angus Campbell, Dominic Pye, The Monster, The Ghoul and the like. He continued to improve and was a better wrestler by the time he moved to Joint Promotions but they just didn't make the most of him. A great wrestler. Happy birthday Pete.

Pat Curry is in the A-Z section
