Forgive me- I hit the wrong button.

Somehow we need to reach pastors with the message of involvement. For example;

If hate crimes legislation is enacted, it may well become unlawful for pastors and other clergy to preach the whole council of God. I refer to the homosexual lifestyle. Those that violate this law might risk jail and the loss of their 501 [c] 3 status. Not only that, but the Gospel would be effectively muzzled by amending the 1ST amendment rights of Christians and their pastors. That will make them 2ND class citizens.

Further, by passing such legislation, curriculum taught in Christian schools, as well as those home schooled, might well have to reflect a contrary view on that subject. Parent[s] may no longer have the right to instruct their own child with their biblical understanding of the issue.

A last point- Churches may no longer be able to say no to someone who applies for a job at their church who is a homosexual. If denied employment for any reason, lawsuits would surely follow.

It is time for pastors and people of faith to be "salt and light" to the society around them. That means the area of politics, also!

Don, I see your point but wouldn't the pastors lose their tax exempt status?  I don't know, just asking.

Pastors are not permitted to endorse any candidate from the pulpit. Yet it is perfectly permitted to say that a Christians duty is to vote their faith; that it is a sin before Almighty God to vote for those who support abortion and gay unions/marriage.

We are to be salt and light. Salt preserves what it is applied to. Light illuminates the darkness. We must stand for all that is moral and right.

There was a pastor here in New Hampshire that preached a message from his pulpit on involvement in the revolutionary war. After the sermon, he led 20 men of his congregation south to Boston to join the Continental Army. Where are these patriots now?

Got it.  So long as they don't endorse they can still inform.  Meanwhile the NO On 8 people are at it again.

Well Don, news is breaking that the California Courts are taking up the gay marriage ban..AGAIN!!!!!!  I'm not a lawyer, but when the court overturned our Ban against gay marriage, it was on the grounds of being against the California Constitution.  PROP 8 was for changing the California Constitution banning such "marriages".  He's praying that it makes it to the Supreme Court before Obama gets in and changes the court to match the liberal mindset.

The only thing we can do, Newt and company included, is to try and use this event to rally people. If we are wise and show the people all that is going on around the country, then we have a chance to win some elections. The people are with us. We [conservatives] need to stop letting them down once we get into office.

No compromise- no surrender! On any points of principle, we must stand strong, and not cut deals. That's what the Dem's do- so should we.
