Hi all.

The Plone4Universities  is a great idea.

I have some suggestions.

It would be nice if there was a place on P4U where people could leave their products wishlist. For example, a product that allowed the costumizations of forms in order to teachers and researchers fill in forms which create pages that would go to a kind of Departments yellow pages.

Now i'm trying to create a product which allow research groups do add their group about page through a form.  Any help is welcome.

Regards,
Rui

I think a product wishlist is an excellent idea, but even more
important would be a list of "best of breed" products for use on a
university site, and even better would be a buildout that installs all
of those products, so it's easy to get started.

let's brainstorm about how we could make this general enough to use
such a listing service and buildout recipe on any p4* project:

plone4universities - http://plone4universities.org
plone4scientists - http://plone4scientists.org
plone4librarians - http://plone4lib.org
plone4government - http://plonegov.org
plone4artists - http://plone4artists.org

the way we've done it with plone4artists is recommended products
described here: http://plone4artists.org/products  (using
PloneSoftwareCenter)
buildout: http://plone4artists.org/download/buildout
wishlist: coming soon!

I think this may be what the Penn State folks also are discussing in their meeting here in Houston this week:

Christian Vinten-Johansen is a subscriber to this list, so maybe he'll pipe up on this. But we will certainly mention Plone4Universities at Ploneability Higher Ed.
