Hi All

2007 has been a great year for Zope so I thought it time to update the
OzZope brochure.
Feel free to print copies if you are going to CEBIT or any other events.

You find a PDF of the brochure at http://www.ozzope.org/zopenews/ozzope-brochure

Write to me it you want an ODT copy.

Here's an excerpt:-

Zope and Plone in 2007
The development of Zope has evolved to three major areas: Zope 2,
Plone (built on the Zope 2 platform) and Zope 3.

The second edition of the book 'Web Component Development with Zope 3'
by Philipp von Weitershausen was released in January, 2007. It is
selling well. Springer, the book's publishers have given the green
light for a third edition.

In 2007 the coordination of Zope, Plone and Silva software development
is being centralised at Launchpad. www.launchpad.net.

Launchpad
Launchpad released in 2007, is built in Zope 3 and Python.  It
provides web based collaboration services to enable the flow of
communication between different software projects.   Launchpad's web
based toolkit includes team management, bug tracking, code hosting,
blueprint tracker, translations and an answer tracker. Launchpad is
funded and used by Canonical the developers of Ubuntu Linux. It is
free to use for open source projects.  Launchpad is hosting over 2000
open source software projects.

Zope and Plone Mailing Lists
There are 25 Zope mailing lists, 16 general and 13 regional Plone
mailing lists. Fortunately these can be found and searched at
www.nabble.com

Google Summer of Code 2007

The Google (European) Summer of Code  is sponsoring eight Plone
projects, four  Zope projects and eleven Python projects (Zope is
written in Python).

cheers
Jan
