OracleSpatial10gDialect extends Oracle9Dialect Hello there,
Actually we’re using the oracle spatial extension native, without hibernatespatial. Yesterday i tried out hibernate spatial and it works great with our application, but why does OracleSpatial10gDialect extends Oracle9Dialect. This dialect is deprecated and should be replaced by Oracle9iDialect or Oracle10gDialect. Are there known Issues why this isn’t done yet?

It wasn't deprecated when the Oracle provider was developed.

None other than lack of time. But you're right, of course. I'm
creating a JIRA ticket to have the Dialect move to a more recent
version.
