Oppose Five Day Only Mail Delivery by the Post Office
from Congress.org
THE POST OFFICE WANTS TO DELIVER MAIL ONLY FIVE DAYS A WEEK TO CUT COSTS
SHOULD CONGRESS ALLOW IT?

The United States Postal Service asked Congress to change regulations requiring them to deliver mail six days a week.  The Postal Service cited increased costs and declining usage of the postal system that resulted in declining revenue.  They say they need to drastically cut costs.  The Post Office said that in heavy mail times such as the holidays it would deliver six days.  It also suggested that perhaps the urban areas would retain six days a week while the more expensive rural routes be subject to the five days a week only delivery.

What do you think?  Tell President Obama and Congress your view and how you'd address the problem.

Also, you can tell the Post Office what you think using their Contact Us webform
Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has..

I am confused, I always thought that rural routes were less costly than city routes. We deliver more mail for less pay right? And we need less supervision, so how does that make us more expensive to work?
