Following a talk given to Reform (UK) from David Short (the rector of St Johns Shaughnessy - Vancover) an online petition has been established. This talk outlined outlining the dire situation four orthodox Canadian parishes including his own now face - as a result of the actions of their former diocese.
This petition is for Anglicans around the world (lay and leadership) to show their support and solidarity with these four orthodox Canadian Parishes. These four parishes are (St. John's (Shaughnessy), Good Shepherd (Vancouver), St. Matthew's (Abbotsford), and St. Matthias and St. Luke's (Vancouver)). All are now in immediate danger of loosing their assets and their buildings to their thoroughly heretical and deeply divisive former bishop Michael Ingham. Two of churches have had their assets frozen and been sent eviction notices, the other two churches expect this to happen shortly.
These churches - each following an overwhelming internal vote of support - have now joined Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC) under the supervision of Donald Harvey, a retired anglican Bishop. They have done this because all have reluctantly decided that they could no longer remain biblically faithful under the control of their former diocese.
All of this mirrors a much larger unfolding Anglican tragedy in Canada and the United States. The ACC (Anglican Church of Canada) and the TEC (the (american) epsicopalian church) are in in large part now flagrantly apostate and in many cases have been openly hostile to orthodox biblical christian parishes within their care. Something like 500 parishes (and 2 entire dioceses) have now left and have realigned themselves with biblically orthodox anglicans overseas. The TEC is hemorrhaging individual members at the rate of about 1000 per week. However rather than addressing theses issues the epsicopalian authorities are now spending Millions and Millions of dollars sueing orthodox christian parishes in an attempt to seize thier assets and steal their churches. Many parishes have happily walked away from their buildings rather than fight it out for years. Many are choosing to fight.
