The OVAL Language standardizes the three main steps of the assessment process: representing configuration information of systems for testing; analyzing the system for the presence of the specified machine state (vulnerability, configuration, patch state, etc.); and reporting the results of the assessment.
This forum serves as the public archive of the oval-developer-list. The list is a lightly moderated public forum for discussing the OVAL Language as well as specific topics for developers such as addressing OVAL implementation issues and for assisting other developers in incorporating OVAL information into their tools and services. |
