YOUR IDEA OR CHANGE Regarding administrative errors, in part, this subsection reads: ....unless the rural carrier knew or should reasonably have known of the error and failed to notify the Employer within (2) weeks. Be it resolved that the aforementioned section be abolished altogether thus leaving the section reading as follows; Any administrative error which results in underpayment of a rural carrier (except remeasurement) will be retroactively be corrected.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE IT The rural carrier is not responsible for administrative errors. Furthermore, there is, to the best of my knowledge, no time allowance within the route evaluation to proof read, go over, recheck, or otherwise perform the duties of an administrative official. Also, when there is an oversight and a rural carrier is overpaid, there generally is no time limit in that case and letters of demand are issued regardless of the time factor regarding the discovery of the oversight.
