Hello,

The response was loud that the proposed date at the end of June was not going to work.  Based on Tyler's suggestion, we'd like to try and move the meeting to the week of July 21 - 25.

The new tentative date is Tuesday July 22 between 1730-1930.

We can meet at the Sierra offices for Pizza and talks or if there is a preference for meeting a local restaurant for a less formal chat that is fine as well.

Again, could you please let us know by July 15 so that we can make appropriate preparations for rooms, food or reservations.

If you'd like to present or have ideas for discussion please feel free to add them to the meeting page or email me.

Looking forward to getting together on July 22, Max.

Hi Max

That sounds good. That will be the evening before the GeoWeb conference gets underway and just after the workshop days.

I would love to hear a presentation on OSGeo being used in an operational setting. Any takers? Also, I don't mind doing a presentation ... what would people be most interested in hearing: Geospatial Interoperability (e.g. Emerging trends at OGC and their potential application to  OSGeo); Geospatial Security (e.g. Application threats to OSGeo and defensive  countermeasures); Geospatial Usability (Common Industry Format for Usability Reporting and its applicability to OSGeo)?

... Any interest in an optional LAN Party afterward? Bring your own laptop that you can modify network settings on. We setup an isolated network. Then spend an hour jamming in the open source game world of BZFlag. Interest?

I’ll be there.  Are the Sierra offices close to the conference?

Perhaps if we’re doing this during the conference, we should advertise it (blogs, OSGeo mailing list, etc) and see if we can get some additional attendance?

Steam Works is only a couple blocks from the conference; they have a

I don't have any real preference on topics.

I will not be there, and will not be in Victoria either.

If it turns out to be an official chapter meeting,
then I'd like the following to be on the agenda.

When the meeting was postponed in February:
"OSGeo BC Chapter meeting **postponed to next fiscal**"
http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/osgeo-bc/2008-February/thread.html
I said:
---------------------------------------------------
This needs to be on the agenda for the next chapter meeting.

I disagree with the notion that meetings can be postponed
without discussion and voting by chapter members (unless
of course the chapter membership votes to confer that
capability to the chapter's executive).
---------------------------------------------------
I received a private email that agreed that it should
be discussed at the next meeting, and a similar sentiment
was expressed in conversations with two other members.

Thanks Dave:

We'll be happy to add that item to the agenda. Seeing as you will not be
able to participate, feel free to send me any specifics about the agenda
item.

I think we will look very briefly (e.g. 5-10 minutes) at the procedure
for announcing a meeting, getting involvement coordinated, and how to
handle contingencies; we will document that and post them to the
wiki...so if you have any ideas pass them along either to the list or to
myself.

Any other chapter business agenda items from anyone? We will try to keep
all the chapter formalities to 20 minutes unless there is a burning
need. After all, we probably just want the pizza, a couple presentations
that might improve how we do our work and an isolated LAN ;-)
