No Christmas Day Pay

I am a regular and I took LWOP for the days before and after Christmas day (approved in advance), and just found that I did not get payed for the Christmas day holiday. Is this correct?

I was told we had to use annual or "O" time or sick leave to get the pay for the holiday. if we use LWOP there is no pay for the holiday. I am assuming that is the correct onfo, but I have not checked it out yet.

You must be in a paid leave status either the day before or the day after a holiday in order to receive holiday pay.

434.43 Pay Computation

434.431 Eligible full-time and part-time regular employees require no specific

authorization to be absent from work on a holiday or a designated holiday.

434.432 To receive holiday leave pay, employees must be in a pay status either the

last scheduled hour before or the first scheduled hour after the holiday or

designated holiday. However, paid leave for the last scheduled hour before or

the first scheduled hour after the holiday or designated holiday, for an

employee on extended Leave Without Pay is not approved for the purpose of

qualifying the employee for holiday pay.
