Rather than post a whole "What's New" page up topside, I figured I'd just start a simple thread down here in Rumor Control central and say something like:

       GMG1 Larry Graves just sent in a bunch of shots. For some reason, most have guns in them.

       And GMG2 Glen Braxton sent some shots in, too. His are of a certain underway event on March 24, 1982.

They're all posted, but you'll have to figure out where they are on your own.

And now, Larry and Glen, please register in this forum and start yakking.

I always thought Chaplin Young was saying Shalom at the end of the evening prayer. Hmmm, now I understand, he was actually saying eat at home.

Thanks Dave, yeah it seemed like humor was the only thing that got me through my tour sometimes... and Chaplain Young was a master of it!

A lot more photos are on the way, when I can get around to scanning them; I tend to keep busy outdoors with stuff like hiking, rowing, and riding my motorcycles. It's a rough life, but somebody's gotta do it...

You are correct. That was taken in the summer of 1980 at the Navy recreation park when we were in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The same picture and and few more from that event are in the First Year in Commission book.
