Nabble vs Ploneboard?

Why does plone.org use Nabble a non plone product when there is Ploneboard which is written for plone?

To me, it just looks like we are not eating our dog food.

Plone.org forums are not web only forums in the same way as ploneboard is. They are mailing lists run using mailman with web archives. Ploneboard doesn't do that.

Why do I have to deal with mailing lists?
I can understand developers and folks like this type of ability but when you have dealt with vB and such for years ... it makes the migration from the php world to python/plone a problem and a turn off.

I wonder if I can post this ... I still haven't gotten my email ...
