The first bug is fixed in the prereleases and the second bug is
apparently fixed in the latest revision (at least I am not able to
reproduce the crash).

use the latest development versions otherwise you will often redo work
someone else has already done.
Prerelease versions of MuseScore are available for testing. The one with
the highest revision number is the most recent.
