If you are looking for a high paced, action, plot-driven thriller, This is It is not it for you. However, if a movie that exposes the raw essence of passion and creative genious is what you're looking for, you've found gold. This is it gives viewers a peek into the hard work of putting together an experience that would have blown your socks off. The movie, which chronicles the last rehearsals before Michael Jackson's untimely death, does not show a man who looks like he is about to die. While Jackson appears on the very thin side, his dancing and his energy show him at the top of his game. There are a few instances in which he talks of saving his voice and where he seems slightly tired, however, for the most part, his stamina is greater than the dancers who are half his age. The saddest part for me was listening to the dancers in the beginning when they talk about how this is a dream come true for them, and how after all of their practice, they will get to perform on the stage with their idol and inspiration in front of an audience. While they did get to work with the King of pop, unfortunately, they were unable to realize the last part of the dream as he died two weeks before the first concert. Michael Jackson's love for dance, music and the world is evident as his motivation throughout the film. He truly was an amazing talent and artist. Although I was never really a Michael Jackson fan, I think his concert would have been incredible and I would have loved to have been there. Michael Jackson - This is It will only be in theaters for a few more weeks. With the level of interest and the quality of the film, I am hoping that it will eventually be on DVD, but as of this moment that is not in the works (at least according to reports). I highly recommend seeing this movie.
