Hi all,

After some 35,000 hits we feel the time has come for the masg site to get a facelift. As I think we noted once, the whole thing was put together with a total budget of $0 plus the generous help of an able logo designer and a computer savvy wife!

A friend has asked if we'd like the site redeveloped using something slightly more advanced than the free web software we had and we're planning to take him up on the offer.

What that means is that right now we'd love your thoughts about what's good, what's not, what could be cut, what could be added - basically, what would you like to see on a new and improved masg website? We can't promise that we'll be able to meet all requests, but we're keen for input as we make decisions.

Post your comments to this thread and we'll keep you updated about what's coming!

Thanks for your contributions.

Tim and Wei-Han

Keep the Forum!

Layout of the forum needs to be readable and easy to use.  It should have features like number of users online, tighter security and multiple sub-forums so we don't get all the posts about all the topics all jumbled up in one place.

I'd personally prefer if the forum looked visually more like this then this.  (But the content vice versa!)

This current site loads very quickly. I don't suppose there is any control over that but the uncluttered, text-based content is appealing to me.

All the best for the plans

Plain ascii (uncluttered, text-based content) is a very good thing because it keeps it easy to navigate and load.

There also seems to be some confusion about the type of site this is, several times people have called this forum a blog.  Although at the top right hand side of the menu bar it says "Discussion Forum" and then separately "GAFCON Blog."  So maybe be very clear on the nomenclature of the new 'forum.'
