Marketcetera 0.4.0 with Equity Options is ready!

Hello everyone,

It's here! It's ready!  The Marketcetera Platform now has support for
a new asset class: equity options.

The 0.4.0 release of Marketcetera has the following new features:
1. Equity option trading and market data
2. Improved algorithmic scripting support
3. Marks import in Tradebase
4. SSL support in OMS
5. FIX message detail view in Photon

It is now significantly simpler to write algorithmic trading scripts.
We have created a top-level Strategy class that allows your strategy
to receive market data and send orders as well as schedule future
events. See more information and sample scripts at

For testing, we have deployed an improved exchange simulator on
exchange.marketcetera.com.  It now allows trading of equities and
equity options and provides a built-in market data feed. Through this
feed your systems can now see the effect they have on the simulated
marketplace: http://trac.marketcetera.org/trac.fcgi/wiki/Marketcetera/Simulators
In addition, we still provide the original simulated market data feed
that gives random market data.

As usual, Marketcetera Platform remains free, open-source software.

integration, the Order Management Server (OMS) and the entire platform
on a VMWare or Parallels appliance, please see our documentation site
