I'm really glad to hear the installation went smoothly, thanks for
letting us know.
With respect to your question about the market data feeds, there are two
that ship with the installer: Bogus and Marketcetera. The former is
entirely contained within the Photon process and delivers random price
changes of a penny per tick or so for whatever securities you ask for.
The latter, called just Marketcetera, is also a simulated feed, but is
central and running here on our servers. While the prices on this feed
are not current, and it, too, will deliver data for any security asked
for it, even if the security doesn't exist, you do have the benefit of
interacting with the rest of the Marketcetera community when you are
connected to it.
Now, to actually change from using the Bogus feed to the Marketcetera
feed, all you have to do is to open Edit->Preferences and select
"Connections". Change the "Market Data Feed" to Marketcetera. Now
select "Marketcetera Feed" and make sure the settings are correct there
according to the instructions at the URL you list. Finally, restart
Photon and you should connect automatically to the Marketcetera feed.
If you don't connect automatically, try clicking the "Reconnect to Quote
Feed" button at the top left of the Photon window.
