Your PostGIS may be too new for the provider

The error message "Cannot establish connection" tells me that you might
need to revise the connection settings (details at
http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FdoPostGISNotes ). If you are not using a
superuser account (i.e., postgres), make sure you are using an account
that has connect/view permissions on essential tables
(public.geometry_columns, etc.) and the tables you want to see. Test the
connection/data visualization from the same computer with other
applications, such as uDig or QGIS.

Regarding ticket #530:
Keep in mind, I'm not entirely convinced this is a completely valid
issue due to the limited extent of testing. It may work with recent
versions of PostGIS on a Windows platform, for instance.

I have tested the PostGIS provider with Mapguide 2.1 under this configuration
  Postgres 8.3.7
  PostGIS 1.3.5
And using the latest version of the provider available at this address
http://www.geomapgis.com/web/geomap-group/fdo/index.html

I'm not sure that the latest build at http://download.osgeo.org/fdo/ are up to date.
My latest checkin was on april 29

So you are saying that ...

- PostGIS 1.3.4 or 1.3.3. should be used with PostGRESQL 8.3.7 ?

Should I replace the FDO for MapGuide 2.0.2 / 2.1 that come along the Windows installation with some other?

I would very much appreciate any suggestions, tips and help!

Kind regards,
Dejan Gregor
