First- You need a program to use the Calculator. Either Open Office or Microsoft Excel . On the Mailcount page, there are links to download whichever program you would like( if you don't already have). Open Office is a free Office Suite, it's a large download, but I recommend it. Excel is a trial version.
Second- You then need to download the appropriate calculator for the program you will be using.
Third- Follow these directions for the no pay or pay calculators http://n2.nabble.com/Mail-Count-Calculator-Instructions-tp2299987p2299987.html

I've posted ,I hope, an easier calculator. You will still need either Open Office or Microsoft Excel to use it. Here is the Link.

They should stay the same. The calculator is giving you a weekly evaluation not an accumlative. The totals of letters, flats,DPS,etc. will be accumlative. The time will be averaged to a weekly time. Our evaluation is based on a week.

I am using the Open Office calculator and the tabulation is not correct for column 11, change of address.  This should be two minutes per COA and no matter how many I enter, it comes up with an office time of 8 minutes.

The formula is correct. The calculator does a "running evaluation".What that means is it averages  as the count goes on.You are seeing the average time for a week . You evaluation is based on a weekly average over these 24 days.
For example, you have 8 certifieds accepted in 16 days of count. The calculator will go 8 divided by 16 times 6 to get a weekly average of
3 certifieds accepted a week. It then takes the 3 times the time standard.

Some javascript/style in this post has been disabled (why?)
I am so sorry to have bothered you with this question. About midday today it hit me -- must have been sleepier than I thought.

FrozenToes: I need a column 29 for waiting time. I'm putting my friends numbers in and she's our Union Steward. She's been called into meetings a lot and all that time has been put in column 29, but there is no such thing on the calculator.

It isn't a part of evaluation so I left it off. If you would like I could add a column to the 4241s.Let me know what calc. you're using.

So in essence will that time be affecting her total evaluation time? I am using open office.

No.
She should be paid by 8127 for any waiting time.

Thanks. She won't be too happy after I tell her that her rout dropped from a 45K to a 40K :(

Have inputed numbers for 12 days.  I thought the hours were very low. I went from a 44K to a 42J or 46H. Standard hours seem very low.  So I went to national web site nrlca.org.  they have a calculator 4241M totals only.  Using the same totals from your calculator came up with a 42K.   So I do not know what to think at this point.  Standard hours were 5 hours less on your calculator and 5 hours more on the national.  I checked and rechecked.  Any input would be appreciated.  Has anyone else had a similar problem.

1- I corrected an error on the calcs. awhile back  regarding USPS vehicle and less than 22.22 miles
2- double check entries
2a.- Entering Withdrawel or USPS vehicle- You need to Capitalize first letter in Yes or No
3- did you enter time in right format HH:MM:SS
4-how do totals match with NRLCA's ( My route's match up fine, haven't heard any other probs.)
5- On NRLCA's did you change the number of weeks ( Top right ) to right number
On my calc. verify top right displays the number of days that have data entered ( cell I8 )

I just compared my numbers ( Open Office vs. NRLCA's) the total items and time standards match.
Problem has to be data entry or you accidentally changed a formula.

This calculator is wrong. It doenst calculate for 30 mins withdrawl time or 30 min LLV allowance also strapping out time is calculated wrong, thats why it dont match calculations when using the NRLCA calculator.

Sorry guys, but the calcs that Frozen Toes made are just fine..  It figures things differently than
the NRLCA calculator..  I have been using it since day one and it is just fine.

Might be due to it looking different than what you are used to, but please try to be a little more
respectful to someone that has made calculators and offered them to YOU and all of us to
use for free.  I mean, I dont mean to sound rude, but if you dont like the calcs, go and use
the NRCLA one..

union time should not be recorded under column 29 waiting time, that is used if you are waiting for a counter to count your mail, NOT for time spent in union meetings. I am a steward, the time spent in meeting should either be recorded on a green utility card or on her 4240 in the remarks section, depending on your offices recording requirement on reporting union time.
