SERIOUS MISMANAGEMENT.....DELAY OF MAIL.....FBI PROBE!!!!

CHECK OUT THAT THEY ACTUALLY REROUTED TRUCKS TO DELAY MAIL.  THEY HAD THE ABILITY TO REROUTE TRUCKS TO KEEP THEM ON THE ROAD.    WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS FOR OUR MAIL COUNT THAT THEY HAVE THIS ABILITY!!!!

This was apparently an ongoing investigation by the philadelphia daily news.  There are several stories posted on that newspaper's website.
Here is a quote from this newspaper's investigation:

"The story described how SENIOR MANAGERS allegedly ordered the daily mail count to be falsified by undercounting items by the hundreds of thousands, as overflowing unsorted-mail bins multiplied on the plant floor,  AND TRAILERS OF UNSORTED MAIL WERE ROUTED TO OTHER PROCESSING PLANTS ONLY TO BE TURNED AROUND AND RETURN DAYS LATER!!!!"

WHAT POSSIBLE PURPOSE WOULD BE SERVED IN FALSIFYING DAILY MAILCOUNT VOLUMES?  WHAT IS TO BE GAINED BY CLAIMING YOU HAVE LESS MAIL THAN YOU REALLY DO? HOW WOULD THAT FIGURE IN TO THIS CONSPIRACY?????

NOW MANAGEMENT HAS DUMPED 19 TONS OF MAIL THAT UNION WORKERS CLAIM CONTAINED WORKABLE MAIL.  POSTAL INSPECTORS SEIZING COMPUTERS/POSSIBLE CRIMINAL CHARGES.  
REROUTED TRUCKS MENTIONED AGAIN.

We have all heard the rumours during mail count of mystery trailers containing mail sitting on the side of the road or at the truck stops.

SO...THEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO REROUTE TRUCKS TO KEEP THEM ON THE ROAD....AND THEY CAN ALSO THROW AWAY TONS OF MAIL.

I have heard it said that our union leaders actually DO check out sites such as this one.  If any national leaders are reading this, this type of story deserves to be placed in our national magazine.  Our membership should be alerted that this stuff can occur.

In the past we have been accused by the NALC city carriers union, of being "the lap dogs" of the postal service.  

I THINK IT IS TIME TO BECOME (SOMEWHAT) MORE MILITANT.  

IF ONLY OUR UNION WOULD OFFER CASH REWARDS FOR WHISTLEBLOWERS IN OUR PLANTS OR EVEN WHISTLEBLOWERS FROM OTHER COMPANIES.  IF ONLY THEY WOULD DEMAND THESE CRIMINALS BE FIRED.

DURING THE LAST MAIL COUNT DHL STOPPED COMING TO OUR POST OFFICE TO GIVE US PACKAGES AND I SUDDENLY BEGAN FINDING DHL PACKAGES DELIVERED BY DHL THEMSELVES, HANGING FROM MAILBOXES AND STREWN ON THE GROUND AROUND MAILBOXES.   I NEVER SAW THAT BEFORE OR AFTER THE COUNT.  I REMEMBER PEOPLE ON THIS SITE REPORTING SIMILAR EVENTS.

IF ONLY OUR UNION HAD OFFERED A CASH REWARD TO EMPLOYEES OF DHL, SOMEONE MAY HAVE TALKED.  SOME DISGRUNTLED SECRETARY MAY HAVE PRODUCED CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN USPS AND DHL CONFIRMING THIS CLEAR CONSPIRACY.    WE COULD HAVE INFORMED A POTENTIAL WHISTLEBLOWER  THAT WE GOT  (X) MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE LAST SETTLEMENT FOR IMPROPRIETY AND OFFERED A PERCENTAGE.   EVEN IF NOTHING CAME OF IT, JUST THE THREAT THAT WE WERE CAPABLE OF DOING SUCH THINGS WOULD RAISE EYEBROWS

NOW THAT PEOPLE FROM DHL ARE LOSING THEIR JOBS IT MAY NOT BE TOO LATE.

    Heard from a rural carrier in Va, how he saw trucks on side of road, he took ppictures of mail in back he opened doors, he was asked to leave by driver, siad on private property, side of road private right, took pictures with cell phone turned over to ass   ociation, at count they did nothing, former union official in va, reliable, so yes po will and has shafted rurals for many years, and will continue to do so, while paying everyone else overtime, they want to cut our times!

I just want to know if dhl went under then why during this mail count do I still see them delivering. questioned pm but she did not know either.

How can we possible trust the mail count?
I'm an RCA getting really discouraged about staying.  A lot of RCAs are leaving and those of us who are left are looking for other jobs.  It's not worth it.  There is too much corruption (not locally but at the upper levels) and people are starting to flip out (at least to me, privately). I started in Nov '03 and made a decent living for all but the last few years, but every mail count there are more cuts and I can't live on crumbs any more.  To top it off, my son was told that he cannot get Pell grants or federal aid for college because I work for the PO.  I don't know what the regulars are going to do for days off but this is ridiculous.  Like last year, the mail disappears during mail count and then we get dumped on the day after.   It's blatantly obvious.
There was something in the news about Buffalo, NY as well as the stuff in Philly and New Mexico;  you know this is happening during count all over.  They want us to work a route that had 2 trays of mail during count and it blossoms to 10 after?  And they can throw us on massive routes with no training now--the ones that had 2 trays during count but now get 10.  They want us to pay for a car, a back up car, insurance on both, BE ON CALL EVERY DAY yet be guaranteed one day a week (but all the Ks were cut to Js last count and god knows what will happen this one) so not really.  You can't be sub of record on 2 routes.  (BTW, the Leave Replacement insurance was a total rip-off; they took the monthly premium every month and then didn't pay a red cent for X-rays or anything when I injured my back.  The doctor filed twice and I filed and I just got stone-walled. )
I really, really like the people (even Mgmt is pretty OK overall) I work with and  but the situation is becoming crushing.  And we are constantly told how much worse it is going to get.   Every time I get a 2nd job I get called in to work a LOT for a couple of weeks and then back to nothing.  But if you just work for one carrier, which would be the only way to keep a 2nd job at my age, the supervisor can ORDER you to work other routes other days and there goes your 2nd job. There are plenty of people who can show up every day at the 2nd job.  It takes away your ability to support yourself.  
How do other subs manage?  I guess they aren't going to need us anyway with all the cuts and so forth.  Nobody will get a day off.   But the crumbs are getting smaller and smaller.  
Being a sub is like Stains the HypnoDog staring at the cupcakes.
I feel really bad about leaving but like most of the subs here, I can't afford to do this anymore.  :(
