Hello fellow educators. I'm a teacher in Seattle, and I'm looking to
see what "Wave" is about.  If anyone can send a wave to me, I'd
appreciate it.

Any words of caution from the list before I upgrade to Snow Leopard?

Only word that you're too cautious - do it, it's an absolute joy.

Hi

I've been using Snow Leopard for a couple of months now and have had no problems. I may be in the minority...but otherwise so far, so good!

So far it has been all good.  After upgrading to Snow Leopard I did not have to re-install anything, it all still works.  That applies to both my MacBook Pro and my Mac Mini.

I have been using Snow Leopard since roll-out with no issues but there has
been a report of a fairly serious bug that can impact your data in a
negative way:

http://www.macworld.com/article/143286/2009/10/sldataloss.html

It seems that, on a relatively small number of machines, upgrading to Snow
Leopard using a guest account then logging back in using your normal account
can wipe the user data on your machine.  I may have the exact steps out of
sequence, the article lays it our pretty specifically, but it's good to know
that there can be an issue.

Another good reason to do regular backups, as if we need another one. ;)

Thanks everybody!

I'll make sure everything's backed up, and give it a go!
