Hi,

I'm new to marketcetera so I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question. I am interested in using the platform in practice and was wondering if there is a list of brokers anywhere that expose a FIX interface to their clients. I have used eTrade for many years and when I asked them about it they couldn't offer any useful suggestions. Is an account that exposes FIX  very exclusive or expensive thing or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Thanks,

Martin

Martin,

I don't know of any brokers providing a FIX interface for retail customers.

This said over 95% of broker dealers provide FIX interfaces for their institutional customers and the specifications are usually available on their web sites (e.g. Nasdaqtrader.com, bats.com).

Regards,

Ahmed Sako

Martin,

I think Ahmed's message got cut off.

The only broker that has FIX interface for retail customers, i
believe, is Interactive Brokers.

Otherwise, as Ahmed was suggesting, about 95% of institutional brokers
provide access via FIX potocol.

I think Interactive Brokers provides FIX connectivity for order routing, though
you have to find solution for market data feed.  I believe for market data feed
you still have to use their own APIS.

Is any one using m-etc with IB?

We are writing a market data feed for IB for one of our customers as
well, and you are correct - it will be going to IB's API to subscribe
to their market data.

Yes, we have customers using Marketcetera to trade with IB. We have a
Ceritified Broker Connector for IB that is available to users of the
commercially supported Marketcetera Platform.

I think a couple of brokers that have FIX connectivity for retail clients are,
1. MB Trading
2. Genesis trading www.gndt.com

I think just2trade has it as well.

a lot of commercial brokers have it as well.
