For 2009, have any libraries in SL held programs specifically aimed at library use?  Not programs that were held in conjunction with other areas/groups/university schools, but library produced programs for their school or public patrons and/or SL residents in general?

As a pretty newly minted SL resident (5 months) I am interested in hearing about Library specific programs.

There are a number of libraries producing programs for their patrons in SL.
If you send me your avatar name, I will invite you to the Librarians of Second Life group where you can hear about some of these.  You might want to check with Rocky Vallejo, Sonja Morgwain, and JJ Drinkwater in SL (avatar names). All of them produce programs for patrons on an ongoing basis and do an excellent job!  Lori

We do programs like that all the time. Check the events calendar for
Alliance Virtual Library at
http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=3bb3buph2sacrtvmici65p80tk%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Los_Angeles
or visit the reference desk at Info Insland International to speak
with a reference librarian.  Please also feel welcome to join the
Librarians of Second Life and be a member of our vibrant library
community in SL.
