Leave replacement holiday pay
YOUR NAME Doreen

ISSUES SUBS/RCAS
MANUAL OR DOCUMENT YOU WANT TO CHANGE. LEAVE BLANK IF NONE OR YOU ARE NOT SURE
YOUR IDEA OR CHANGE While sub carriers work a lot of time before and after a holiday they should be given at least 4 hours of pay for the holiday in so much as they work the day before and the day after the holiday and not necessarily on the same route.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE IT We need to give some incentive to subs. They are our relief and should be given some kind of benefits because without them we would have no days off!!!
Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has..

Back before RCA's starting being paid according to a schedule, their pay was based on a 40 hour carrier's yearly salary divided by 2000.  The difference between the 2000 hours and 52 weeks times 40 hours per week takes into account the  80 hours of holiday pay that the regular gets.  So the RCA pay includes holiday pay.  When RCA pay went from computation to the schedule, the first schedule was based on the then current pay.

Why not just pay any leave replacement working the day after a holiday actual hours worked or the evaluation, which ever is greater?

I am sorry but I don’t agree that an RCA should get any type of holiday hours at all.  We are part time employees at best, we should be happy in the first place to be working the day before or after the holiday.  Sorry I may have gotten bitter in my old age, but I am not for giving any more money to the lazy RCAs in my office.
