King Oracle - 64 bit client???

Hi,

I have a Vista 64 workstation with Oracle XE running locally.  I have managed to connect via SQLPlus and to load data using FDO2FDO.  I am trying to connect to the data from within Civil 3D 2009 using the Map functionality (32 bit) .  I've downloaded the 32 bit SL-King driver but can not get the connection work.  ora-12154  This would seem to be a tnsnames issue but I can connect via other methods.  Any suggestions?

Will there be a 64 bit SL-King driver released soon?

Thanks,
Martin

Surprises me that you get ora-12154 for that connection string.

I will switch tomorrow for first time to Vista 64.
I have issues to solve with latest King.Oracle too and I plan to put
some time in it. I think sometime in January would be most accurate
timing
.

Haris,

On a separate, but somewhat related question.  Does the King-MSSQLSpatial driver support record-level locks for edits in AutoCAD Map?  Long transactions would be ideal, short transactions would work as long as they prevented loss of work by prevented out of date from being updated.  If you need more explanation, just let me know.

Thanks,
Martin

Unfortunately I am not even using my new super fast 64 machine.

I have project to finish and no time for switch.

BTW, I tried to run 32 bit MapGuide web extension on Vista 64 and IIS 7 and no luck there. If someone succeded I would love to know how.

Thanks,

Hi!

There is known bug using oracle client on Vista x64 machine.
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlintegrationservices/thread/ab662d63-6385-4f73-b27f-d526048f601f/

Change oracle client from version 10.2.0.1 to version 10.2.0.4. It should work.
