K3 bottom cover screw spinning in place

Hi Mark,

 

I had that problem too.  Just take the top cover off and you will see a
screw just ahead of the PA box in the center of the rig. Remove it and then
the bottom will come off.  Both of those screws go into a stand off.
Replace the top screw with the stand off on the bottomef and tighten it a
bit more firmly.  Then you can replace the bottom cover.  Tighten it a
little less.

That works *if* there's no subreceiver installed. Otherwise one must remove
the subrx module and cables to get to it.
